Context: This was my internship project while working at Ford Motor Company in Summer 2017. Trail Control is a vehicle feature that was released with the 2019 Ford Raptor (now public knowledge) that controls the speed of a vehicle off-road.
Project Summary: Developed safety requirements for the vehicle feature (Trail Control) that satisfied international standards. Wrote a program in C that implemented the requirements. Worked with a team of Ford engineers to merge the program with existing Powertrain Controls software. Developed and implemented a testing plan for simulating the software satisfied the requirements; this included developing code to test the software and also working with Ford engineers to test the software in a prototype of the vehicle.
Results: Developed software passed all tests during my internship and also across later stages of verification and validation and when on to be implemented in the 2019 Ford Raptor.
